Transcend - Go Beyond Range or Limits

Transcend - Go Beyond Range or Limits

Jane Taylor: my business partner, my friend, and my co-conspirator, graciously offered me another chance to be an irregular poster on her blog. This coincides perfectly with the release of an unusual book for me, but the book that I'm hoping will really appeal to a broad audience. I've been dabbling in a few unusual areas lately to expand my own horizons and this one surprised me with just how good it is.

Imagine fields filled with wheat and corn. Orchards full of trees laden with bananas, almonds, oranges, apples, and more. Ranches with tens of thousands of cattle. All of it raised and harvested in the oldest of human professions— farming for the sake of providing for the human race.

For a small group of kids on the terraformed planet of Venus, that's exactly what life is like. They were born there and they grew up there, knowing what it was to put in a hard day's work and feeling the satisfaction that comes from reaping the fruit of their labors at the end of the day. And for most of them, unfortunately, will die there.

A wind of change is blowing and it brought with it an army of soldiers and war machines. A revolution, long brewed in secrecy, is laying waste to humanity to set things right. Or as right as their leader, the newly elected President Ondalla, believes things should be.

For the kids investigating the strange noises in the forests of Venus, only death or capture awaits. Two of those kids, anxious to explore a life of their own in a budding relationship, are stripped apart and forced to live different lives. For them the only option is the futile act of resistance or accepting fate and turning their backs on what happened to their family and friends.

Following in the wake of some amazing dystopian science fiction like The Hunger Games and Divergent comes my latest series: Transcendent. Transcendent is set to fill in the holes and take the reader to a new future with new possibilities. Tragic romance, intrigue, action and adventure, and even some giant robots make for a coming of age story that cannot be denied.

It's available on Amazon and Smashwords right now, with more to come in the very near future. Get your copy before your friends start talking about it and leave you wondering what you're missing.

Soul Bound Cover Reveal

Ash laughed -- an evil, hollow sound – and grasped his knife more firmly. Kali blinked slowly, her heart breaking. This wasn’t her Ash, she reminded herself. This wasn’t the boy who’d sold his soul to save his sister, or fought by her side. This wasn’t the boy who had changed everything she thought she knew about life, love, and herself.
“I’ll die before hurting you,” Kali repeated, lifting her chin. He possessed the greater strength now, she knew, and would beat her even if she fought. At least, in the end, she would die at his hand rather than someone else’s. Maybe he would still win his soul back that way.

A boy who sold his soul to save his sister’s life.
A fallen angel turned demon, seeking her redemption.
And a surprising love story that could save them both … or destroy the world.

Join Ash and Kali, and a cast of dark characters, as they fight for the fallen angels of the world, the right to choose their own path, and the one thing they never thought they’d find – true love.

The Ryan Chronicles coming in... 2014?

Yes, the first book of The Ryan Chronicles is coming this spring as opposed to the originally scheduled 2015 date.

While I was supposed to be working on FALLEN, which is the prequel to the Games series, CJ Ryan just wouldn't shut up. He wanted first dibs on my muse, not the story of how his father went from being a cop's son to being Frank Aris's accomplice in Survival Games.

So... the first book in The Ryan Chronicles is now on the schedule for release this spring.  And the cover is stunning, don't you think?

Here's a brief description for you all...

When CJ Ryan's girlfriend decides life is less complicated without him, CJ travels a destructive path into despair, walking the line between doing what's right and doing what feels good. But what feels good is a dangerous slope to travel, especially when Lucifer wages war for his soul.

One wrong step and CJ could fall into the devil's trap, becoming no better than the demons he battles.

Look for an announcement as to the exact timing of this release in May!

In the meantime, sign up for my newsletter by April 15th for a sneak peak at the first chapter of Saving Grace!

Drugs, Guns, and Topless Sunbathing

Drugs, Guns, and Topless Sunbathing

Jane was kind enough to offer to share my news of a new release. I'd like to think it's because we're friends and business partners and we respect each others writing. Or maybe it has something to do with some photos I have of her while on vacation on a certain beach… Whatever the case, I'm appreciative and anxious to get on with my announcement about a new book that I was very excited to write. So, without any more rambling, queue the deep announcer voice: In a world brought to the edge of civilization by terrorism and economic collapse, one man… ah, screw it. That's too cheesy even for me.

I am very happy to announce the release of Marshal, the fourth book in my Wanted series! Is there terrorism and economic ruin and all that stuff? Sure. But it's in the past mostly by this point (in other words, read the first three books and start with Wanted – it's free!). Marshal pits Federal Marshal Carl Waters against some new adversaries that are doing their best to lay the groundwork for an extensive drug, weapons, and human trafficking network throughout the American southwest before the United States government is able to fully reclaim the area.

The excitement doesn't stop there though. Carl's daughter, Allison, has followed in his footsteps and used her tech-savvy skills to become a deputy marshal on his team. Jessie (Carl's Wife) is back and has used her entertainment industry skills to turn herself into a producer as well as an actress.

Tanya Kurkova, billionaire ice princess, and her devoted bounty-hunter turned personal assistant Sarah Gibson are back as well. And wow, are they back. In fact, one of the main plots of the book involves Tanya inheriting the corporate empire from her father. Of course that brings another character out of the past to stir up some trouble. Tanya's brother, Dustin. The same Dustin that once hoped to have his sister killed so he could become the sole heir.

So Marshal's got drug dealers, corporate intrigue, romance (including some twisted up love triangles), family struggles, undercover police work, a private pool with clothing optional sunbathing, and some international travel. There's a lot going on and it's a lot of fun watching Carl try to maintain his tough guy image while spending time with his daughter and reaching deep to try and offer a more sensitive side to support both friends and family.
