Duty is a double-edged sword. It means putting yourself last, ripping you away from everyone you love while you complete an unreasonable quest just to keep them safe.

Tom Ryan left York. He left everything he loves to safeguard the last angel descendants.

Now he’s back, still damned, still persecuted. Prophecy says York will burn, and everyone left who matters to Tom is in York. With no time to catch up and reconnect, Tom is thrust into a battle he’s destined to lose.

There are only so many ways you can break a man before his wrath changes the status quo.

Rekindled by family, by love, by home and memories, the ruthless son of Ty Ryan steps into the shoes left under the family tree by his dad, and this time he’s out of mercy.

If you haven't read Tom's story yet, save $4.98 by buying The Ryan Chronicles Trilogy II for $6.99, instead of buying the three individual novels!

THE RYAN CHRONICLES II

ANGEL BLOOD - Book 4
Someone is murdering people, draining them dry, and the police suspect it may be a vampire. When the captain of the York police department turns to Tom Ryan and his paranormal investigation agency for help, Tom takes one look at the crime scene photos and knows the killer isn’t a blood sucker.

Tom and his business partner compare the murders with a list of angel descendants and a chilling pattern is confirmed. Angel bloodlines are being extinguished, and there are only a handful left between the killer’s hunting ground and their family in York.

They must stop the assassin before he can cross off any more names on his hit list.

ANGEL FIRE - Book 5
In the aftermath of his wife's death, Tom Ryan cannot breathe when his three-year-old daughter, Hannah, is out of his sight. His over protectiveness falls into the realm of paranoia, born from the fear that Lucifer is not done with him yet.

When that same apprehension manifests in his daughter, he realizes he needs to deal with his issues before his terror poisons Hannah’s innocence. Just when he manages to get a grip on his separation anxiety, his worst nightmare comes to fruition.

Desperate to save Hannah from the devil's grip, Tom will do just about anything to get her back, even if it means the ultimate act of betrayal.

ANGEL FURY – Book 6
Duty is a double-edged sword. It means putting yourself last, ripping you away from everyone you love while you complete an unreasonable quest just to keep them safe.

Tom Ryan left York. He left everything he loves to safeguard the last angel descendants.

Now he’s back, still damned, still persecuted. Prophecy says York will burn, and everyone left who matters to Tom is in York. With no time to catch up and reconnect, Tom is thrust into a battle he’s destined to lose.

Secret Worlds Author Spotlight: Kate Corcino

SECRET WORLDS available for only 99 for a limited time! Get your copy now!

Today I am thrilled to have Kate Corcino on my blog. Kate is a reformed shy girl who found her voice (and uses it...a lot). She believes in magic, coffee, Starburst candies, genre fiction, descriptive profanity, and cackling over wine with good friends. She also believes in the transformative power of screwing up and second chances. Cheers to works-in-progress of the literary and lifelong variety! She writes what she loves—which means a genre-bending combination of science, magic, romance, and plenty of action. She lives in her beloved desert in the southwestern United States with her husband, several children, three dogs, and two cats.

JET: Can you tell us about your most recent book?
Spark Rising is romantic dystopian futuristic fantasy--a genre-bending combination of light sci fi, urban fantasy/paranormal, dystopian, romance, and gender issues.

Spark Rising is the story of a young woman coming into her power and figuring out what it means for herself and the kind of person it makes her. And by “power” I don’t mean her supernatural power. She got a handle on that long before! For Lena, the issues are loss and vengeance versus love and healing. And because it’s dual POV, it’s also the story of a man who has spent his life devoted to a particular cause and has accepted that his lot is to be the morally compromised one—the man willing to do the bad things in order to bring good changes to the world—and what happens when Alex very unexpectedly finds that there is something (someone) who matters just as much to him. It’s a love story, and an action adventure, and a crazy ride that this renegade and this double agent go on together.

JET: What drew you to this genre?
You mean what drew me to shove so many different genres together in one package? *laugh* I think I took that whole “write what you love” writer’s advice pretty seriously. I just love such a wide variety of things in the book world! I started writing and the book became a fusion of all of those things…the sci fi with the UF feel, the romance working around heavier issues. Plus, I love the coming of age aspect of it. It’s intended for a New Adult and Adult audience. Spark Rising itself is more NA thematically, but the series will make the segue into other adult issues as it progresses. The book is a fusion of all of the things I love. I hope readers share that love.

JET: What’s been your most challenging hurdle on the road to publication?
Believing in myself. It affected every step along the way—starting, finishing, then having the courage to send it to betas, to send it for editing, to hit publish. And each milestone along the way was a switchback on a path going up a mountain. Having the courage to start climbing, believing that I should KEEP climbing? Those were rough times. Of course, the response to the book has been like getting to the top and feeling the sunlight on my face!

JET: What was your favorite moment in the journey?
There was a moment halfway through the revision process with my editor when I stopped despairing that it was awful and could actually feel it getting stronger, tighter, BETTER. That was an amazing feeling.

JET: Which authors had the most influence over you growing up?
I read widely—science fiction and fantasy mostly, but also horror and a lot of romance by the time I was in sixth grade. Which had the most influence as I grew up? That would be one author: Anne McCaffrey. I devoured everything she wrote.

JET: When did you know you wanted to take the plunge into the writing world?
Hmmm. I’ve been telling stories since I could talk, but when did I actually articulate a desire to write…? When I was in third or fourth grade, maybe? As long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and I’ve always written. It wasn’t until I had failed spectacularly at a variety of other things that I realized that maybe writing was what I was meant to do, and maybe I should believe what everyone else had been telling me all along.

JET: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of book research? Most interesting fact you uncovered?
I’ve driven all over the southwestern United States to get pictures of real locations that I’m writing about. I’ve also ordered mesquite flour and cooked with it, to get a sense of the kinds of foods that would be available in a post-apocalyptic scenario in the Southwest. It’s not…um…delicious. I worked hard to figure out how to make it palatable.

JET: Of all the novels and stories you’ve written - which one is your favorite? Why?
Spark Rising, because it’s the first! I will forever have a place in my heart for Lena and Alex.

JET: Any advice (from a writer’s standpoint) for the novices out there?
Sit down. Do the work. Every single day. Even when it’s awful. Even when you stop believing in yourself, in the story, in finishing. Just keep slogging.
And also—hire an editor! *laugh* I learned so much about writing and publication from my editor!

JET: All right - now that I’ve hammered you with the big questions, let’s tackle my favorite (and geeky) quick ten... starting with Beach or Mountains?
Mountains.

JET: Country or Rock-n-Roll?
Rock!

JET: Angels or Demons?
Ooooh, hard one! Can I go with fallen angels? Are those demons? *laugh* I’m not a huge fan of perfection!

JET: Zombies or Demons?
Zombies.

JET: Coffee or Tea?
Coffee, always and forever.

JET: Boxer or Briefs?
Boxer briefs! They make every butt look awesome!

JET: Spring or Fall?
Fall.

JET: Top 10 best seller or Unknown Back Shelf Find?
Unknown…and not just because I am one. ;)

JET: Kick-ass name-taker or Scream for help?
Kick-ass name-taker.

JET: Sword wielding ninja or Gun toting momma?
Gun-toting momma—it’s a Texas thing!

JET: Thank you for indulging me. Before we wrap this up, can you tell us what you're working on now? What's next?
Right now I am working on Direct Current, the sequel to Spark Rising. I am moving from initial revising into edits soon, and that’s always exciting.

As far as writing, I’ve just started working on Morning Star, a shifter paranormal romance novella that will release with thirty other novellas on November 15th. All of them are set in the same town. I’m really excited about that, too!

Secret Worlds Author Spotlight: Conner Kressley

SECRET WORLDS available for only 99 for a limited time! Get your copy now!

I am thrilled to have author Conner Kressley here today. Conner is an avid reader and all around lover of storytelling. His book "The Breaker’s Code" is the first in the epic "Fixed Points" series that pits free will against fate and true love against good intentions and bad situations.

When he’s not writing about teenagers who have way too much on their plates, Conner can be found in the back roads of Georgia watching old movies, geeking out over books (comic and otherwise), and planning the next of his (some would say way too frequent) trips to Disneyworld. He also loves nature, stories where people are running for their lives, and all things "Southern".

JET: Can you tell us about your most recent book?
But of course. It’s called Taken By the Beast, and it’s a New Adult re-imagining of Beauty and the Beast. It’s interesting, steamy, and original. But it also has enough winks and nods to really satisfy fans of that well known story.

JET: What drew you to the romance genre?
Love is what drives us. It’s in everything we do. We fight for love. We die for love. I don’t really understand how people are not drawn to it. Plus, I love fairy tales and I adore taking what’s familiar and twisting it into something new.

JET: What’s been your most challenging hurdle on the road to publication?
Just getting started. There had always been a stigma to self-publishing that pushed me away from it. I thought that, if I didn’t have an agent or a traditional contract, that what I did wasn’t worth anything. The ironic part is, once I shrugged those outdated ideas away, they started coming.

JET: What was your favorite moment in the journey?
I should say making the USA TODAY Bestsellers list. Any normal author would. But honestly, my favorite moment was when I realized that there was an actual audience of people out there who loved what I did. The minute I started getting fan mail, if that’s what you want to call it. That’s my favorite moment.

JET: Which authors had the most influence over you growing up?
Stephen King, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling. Terry Brooks was a god among us. And, though he’s not an author, Joss Whedon was a huge influence in my formative years. I’m also obsessed with the Iron Druid series at the moment.

JET: When did you know you wanted to take the plunge into the writing world?
About five years ago. Stuff happened in my life that changed my trajectory, and I knew that-if I wanted to be happy- I was going to have to make that happiness for myself.

JET: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of book research? Most interesting fact you uncovered?
I make most of it up, so I don’t really do a lot of research. That’s the beautiful thing about scifi and fantasy. I did make up a small town (Crestview, Georgia, for my book THE BREAKER’S CODE). Turns out it was a real place though. So, after I found that out, I went back and tailored the story to fit the actual town. I hope to go there one day.

JET: Of all the novels and stories you’ve written - which one is your favorite? Why?
The Breaker’s Code books are really dear to my heart. I’ve been with those characters for such a long time. They’re like friends. So anytime I stop writing them, I sort of miss them a little. Does that make me sound like a lunatic? I miss my invisible friends. That being said, Taken By the Beast is one of the strongest books I’ve ever writer, and that’s thanks in large part to my co-writer Rebecca Hamilton. She’s a gem, and we’ve really nailed down the best of both our respective worlds with this series

JET: Any advice (from a writer’s standpoint) for the novices out there?
Be open. Listen to people, and don’t be defensive when it comes to constructive criticism. And don’t give up. There’s always going to be an audience for good writing, whatever the genre. Oh, and be prepared. It’s at least twice as much work as you imagine it’s going to be.

JET: All right - now that I’ve hammered you with the big questions, let’s tackle my favorite (and geeky) quick ten... starting with Paper or Plastic?
Plastic, though that isn’t very conscious of me, is it?

JET: Steak or Tofu?
Steak. Like, twice a day, if I can get it.

JET: Beach or Mountains?
Beach. That’s an easy one.

JET: Country or Rock-n-Roll?
Both, but Country more often. There’s a lot of inspiration in that music for me.

JET: Leather or Lace?
Um…no comment

JET: Angels or Demons?
Angels, of course.

JET: Paper or Digital?
Digital. It would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise

JET: Silent Film Classics or Cheesy B Rated Horror?
Horror movies. They’re a good excuse to put your arm around someone

JET: Twilight or True Blood Both got pretty bad at the end, didn’t they?

JET: Coffee or Tea?
I’m way too Southern not to say tea. And the sweeter the better.

JET: Thank you for indulging me. Before we wrap this up, can you tell us what you're working on now? What's next?
No worries at all. I enjoyed it. Right now I’m working on the Breaker’s Resolution (Book 4 in the Breaker’s Code series). It’s a lot of fun and probably the book most of my fans are awaiting the most. In addition, I’m working on the Taken By the Beast sequel, Sleeping with the Beast. I think people are really going to enjoy that. And very soon, I’m going to go into full swing on book 2 of my Alpha/Omega series (The Hourmaker’s Wife). It’s a Young Adult time travel series. It has a lot of adventure and is probably the funniest of all my books. The first one ended with a big shocking reveal and I’ve been getting letters asking when the next one will be ready. I’m happy to say, very soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to chat on my blog. Folks, you can find out more about Conner Kressley and his work at the following places: http://connerkressleybooks.weebly.com/

Secret Worlds Author Spotlight: Noree Cosper

SECRET WORLDS available for only 99 for a limited time! Get your copy now!

Today, I have USA Today Bestselling author, Noree Cosper on the blog. Noree loves writing about magic in the modern world. While growing up in Texas she constantly searched for mystical elements in the mundane. She buried her nose in both fiction and books about Wicca, Religion, and Mythology. Every day became an adventure as she joined a group of role-players, acting out her fantasies of vampires, demons, and monsters living in the world.

She embraced her nerdom wholeheartedly.

Noree grew, but never left her love for fantasy and horror. Her dreams pushed her and her hand itched to write the visions she saw. So, with her fingers on the keys, she did what her heart had been telling her to do since childhood. She wrote.

JET: Can you tell us about your most recent book?
The Pandora Principle, Cassi is a pandoran, a descendant of Pandora who has special powers, though she’s more interested in college and hot men. Unfortunately, her two worlds collide when her fellow college students start dying.

JET: What drew you to (genre)?
I have always had a love for the supernatural and enjoyed reading about them. I think my first favorite was vampires.

JET: What’s been your most challenging hurdle on the road to publication?
I think it would be getting my name out so that people know that I have books available.

JET: What was your favorite moment in the journey?
The moment I held my published book in my hands.

JET: Which authors had the most influence over you growing up?
Anne Rice, Anne Mccaffrey, and Laurel K Hamilton

JET: When did you know you wanted to take the plunge into the writing world?
I always loved reading, and it just evolved into writing. I would say middle school was when I made my actual conscious decision.

JET: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of book research? Most interesting fact you uncovered?
I stayed at a haunted bed and breakfast to ghost hunt and to get a feel for a small town in Texas.

JET: Of all the novels and stories you’ve written - which one is your favorite? Why?
At the moment I would say my favorite is A Dose of Brimstone, the second book in the VHO series to be released in August 2015.

JET: Any advice (from a writer’s standpoint) for the novices out there?
Write, revise, edit. Rinse and repeat. Find a critique partner or group to read you work and offer feedback. It may be hard to find the right fit but they are invaluable in the writing process, as are editors.

JET: All right - now that I’ve hammered you with the big questions, let’s tackle my favorite (and geeky) quick ten... starting with Paper or Plastic?
Plastic

JET: Steak or Tofu?
Steak

JET: Beach or Mountains?

JET: Country or Rock-n-Roll?

JET: Horror or Comedy?

JET: Thank you for indulging me. Before we wrap this up, can you tell us what you're working on now? What's next?
I am finishing edits on A Dose of Brimstone, then I will begin writing the third book of the VHO series: The Omega Effect.

Thank you so much for taking the time to chat on my blog. Folks, you can find out more about Noree Cosper and her work at the following places:
