Jenny Craig Week 36

Two steps forward and one step back.  The weekend trip I was worried about - well yeah - it bit me in the ass.  I gained a pound on the scale and an inch back on my stomach measurement.  Now I have to get my butt in gear and get back on track.

So here's to another week and we'll see how it all works out.

Until next week

Jenny Craig Week 35

Dropped half a pound on the scale and a full inch off the stomach measurement.  Woot-woot!

Now I'm just hoping that my weekend journey doesn't completely destroy my progress.

I'm keeping this short and sweet.

Don't forget to follow my blog tour and say hi on the posts for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift certificat and signed Steve Williams series.

Until next week,

Jenny Craig week 34

Same old thing - no difference on the scale - but another half inch off the stomach measurement.  At this rate, I'll hit my stomach measurement goal by my birthday.  :)

Hope you're doing well on getting into bathingsuit form.

Until next week.

Jenny Craig week 33

Again - the same reading on the scale...BUT a half inch off my stomach measurement.  Going for the toning now more than the weight loss.  So we'll see.  The non-movement in the scale is a little annoying, but if I'm still dropping the inches - who am I to argue.  Besides, muscle weighs more than fat.

Goal is still another ten pounds - but more importantly I want to lose 2 inches on my waist, 3 inches on my hips and 4 inches on my stomach measurements which would leave me at the following:

Chest 32
Waist 24
Stomach 24
Hips 32

That's the magic number - more so than what the scale says - this is where I want to be.  I just don't want my chest to drop any further.  ;)

So that gives you an indication of my current measurements and the little belly pouch is still present - but not what it was.  Hell, I've lost 15 pounds so far and between 6 and 8 inches depending on the measurement - when I look at it that way, I'm not that far off from my goal on the measurement side, so the weight side is just a bonus.

Until next week,
Ciao

Jenny Craig week 31

Yo-yo.  I'm back up a half pound.  The good news is I've lost a half inch on my stomach so not a total loss.

Let's see if I can yo-yo down a full pound this coming week.

Glad it's starting to feel like spring out - now I can go for a walk as an exercise alternative.

Catch you next week.

Jenny Craig - week 29

One step forward, two steps back.

I lost the battle this week and gained the half pound back.  It could be PMS and extra bloating and what not from my monthly curse but we will see.  It was kind of a defeating feeling to step on the scale on Friday morning and see the results.  I stepped on it three times thinking it must be wrong, but nope.  I gained a half pound.

Ugh - I thew my hands up in the air in disgust and sauntered into the shower.  The warm water tempered the frustration a bit and with cranky resolve, I swore to myself next Friday I would see an entire pound shed.

One half pound to offset the one I gained and another half to keep on track.

So here's to hitting that one pound loss - now if only the warm weather would descend!

Until next week -

Jenny Craig - Week 28

Another half pound - WOOT!

Nice end to a week of craziness.  My PT is now over - or at least going to the center is - but I have a slew of exercises that I'll keep up with to get some of the last range of motion issues worked out.

I'm getting antsy for our beach place to open - once that does, weekends will involve a lot of daily walking and who doesn't like to walk on the beach.

When I started the Jenny Craig adventure, I was hoping to hit my goal in 3 months, but that turned out to be unrealistic.  Even 6 months was unrealistic considering I was only looking at a grand total of 25 pounds.  I'm 8 pounds away and it has been 7 months.  In the beginning I averaged close to 3 pounds a month - which is a respectable loss, especially when encompassing the holiday season.  In the last couple of months it has slowed considerably - to a pound or two a month.  I'm hoping I can get to goal by July - by my birthday.

So here's to that end goal - it's finally within sight and I'm feeling great, nevermind looking pretty good too, fitting into all my old clothes.

Hope you all are meeting and exceeding your goals too!

Jenny Craig week 27

No loss (and more importantly - no gain) this week - but that isn't bad considering I started off the weekend after my last weigh in going completely off the program for three days.

Day one - co-worker at my house and I cooked pepper steak - which I had 2 helpings for lunch.  Bad girl.   I also had it for dinner that night - but only one helping then.

Then Saturday - my daughter's birthday party - big ass sweet sixteen party so that included: Pizza, Cheese & Crackers and cake.  And Sunday wasn't much better with the party continuing and a big breakfast, and leftovers for lunch and dinner.

And equally as bad - no structured workout on the weekend.  I did walk around at the party snapping pictures and carted stuff in and out but I didn't do my gazelle or anything that weekend.

I got back on track Monday - but still to end the week stepping on the scale and seeing no gain after the crazy weekend was a big win.

Now - back on track with no major events coming until the beginning of April.  Happy dieting!

Swing by on Friday when I am dishing it up with David Lender, author of Trojan Horse!

Until then,

Jenny Craig - week 26

Another half pound drop - yay!  And an INCH off my stomach measurement.  I'm back on track - which feels fantastic!

Now I just need to get into the groove with excercise - consistency is needed.

The closer my goal gets the more impatient I get.  I want that figure now - and this slow burn is annoying, expecially in this immediate gratification society.

But I know doing this slow is the right way.

So patience and perserverance is key.

Until next week

Jenny Craig week 22

Lost another pound this week so I'm psyched.  Not sure if I'll hit the 5 pounds I want to lose by the end of the month - but I'm going to try like crazy.

Physical therapy on my shoulder is going well too - so that's another plus and I'm hoping for a complete week in the office instead of being hit with more snow days.

All in all, February looks like a great month for the program.  How is everyone else doing with their weight loss resolutions?

Jenny Craig Week 21

Lost another half pound - so now the chocolate binge pound is gone.  :)  Happy day.  February's focus is dropping five pounds by the end of the month and strength training for my shoulder along with continuing the exercise regiment.

January was a bust - but now that I'm back at work, I think my focus will be sharper and my access to food more limited.  :)

So that's the progress report.  Overall, I'm feeling great about the changes I'm making in my body, my eating habits and that is energizing!

Happy February!

Jenny Craig Week 20

Lost half of the pound I gained a couple weeks ago - so not back to before the chocolate binge, but getting there.

This coming week will be challenging because I go back to work after a month on disability for shoulder surgery.  It should be interesting, especially since there are two snow storms forcasted.  Ugh.  I'm ready for spring and we're only in January.

I'm going to continue on the exercise path of an hour a day on the gazelle - at least that's the plan.  Hopefully I won't be too drained from work to put in the time!

My end of January goal is to be 9 pounds away from my goal.  Originally, I wanted to be 5 pounds away from goal - but had to revise that because of the chocolate binge.  I'm not going to come near the original goal - so that is now the goal for the end of February.  I think that's doable, as long as I adhere to the program I've set in place.

Until next week

Jenny Craig Week 19

I slipped this week.  Gained a pound instead of losing it.  I blame it on all the cookies my daughter made during the snow storm.  The house smelled like chocolate and I was having major chocolate cravings.  I gave in and sadly, it went straight to my hips.

Trying to shake the chocolate craving will be my goal next week and upping my exercise regiment.  Physical Therapy for the shoulder is still at three times a week - so adding that to my physical activity - at least helps.  I'm trying to get back to an hour a day consistently on my gazelle in addition to all the PT exercises.

How are you doing on your new year weight goals?  Any challenges?  Any success stories you'd like to share?

Here's to hoping I have more will power next week.

Jenny Craig week 18

No change on the scale - and only a minimal amount of exercise beyond physical therapy - so having no change wasn't such a bad thing.

Next week I'm planning on getting my activity level back up to par and my arm back in the game.

After all - I got through the holidays and lost weight - now I have to do the post holiday reassessment and get off my butt and get back into the regiment I was in before my shoulder surgery.

For those that saw a backward step in their weight loss plan over the holidays, no worries, it's easy to get back on track - just like physical therapy - you just have to grin and stiffen your resolve.

Here's to a successful year.

Jenny Craig - week 17

Another pound gone!  I hit 15 pounds now.  Yay - only ten more to go!

This with the holidays and being at my in-laws going off plan for dinners and not exercising.  Wo - not bad.

Next week I start physical therapy and that should help too.  I'm hoping to reach goal weight before End Game is released on Valentines day.  That's ten pounds in six weeks.  Optomistic, hell yeah - but I think it is doable.

Wish me luck and happy 2011!

Jenny Craig wek 16

Dropped a half pound but didn't have the opportunity to measure myself though - not with the surgery.  We'll see how I fare next week after no exercise and a week of R&R.

I'm hoping the surgery doesn't reverse the progress I've made. Although it is apt to have some affect due to the lack of exercise.  After next week - I'll be starting physical therapy, so that will help me get back on the physical fitness wagon.

How did you all do during the holidays?

Until next week...

Jenny Craig week 15

Another half pound gone and I'm so jazzed about that.  Especially since I went out to eat twice during the week.

Next week is going to be challenging and I may not be in the condition to post anything on the 29th because I'm having surgery just before Christmas on my shoulder. As a matter of fact - the day this is posted is surgery day.  Ugh.

I'm hoping this will not throw me completely out of wack with my diet plans - but we'll see.

Anyhow,  wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!

Jenny Craig Week 13

The week from hell - truly.  I started off just fine - but then on Tuesday - things started going awry with the family and that threw my schedule completely off - so from Tuesday on - I didn't exercise and on Thursday, I had a little fender bender which threw my back out - so that kind of screwed up my physical fitness plans Thursday and Friday.

What did all that amount to on the scale?

No loss.

But I did lose a quarter inch on the measurement side.  So - not a total loss.

I'm hoping this week will be much better.  I think the things come in threes curse is done (daughter sick on top of the wisdom teeth deal,  son twisted his wrist in Jukido and then the accident) - so my plan is to get back on track this week and hopefully see scale results.  :)

Cheers to all those who have chosen to do something about their weight and I hope my written journey gives you a little boost.

Until next week...

Jenny Craig Week 12

Awesome week - I dropped 2.5 pounds this week even with Thanksgiving as part of it!  Outstanding feeling to hit the halfway mark.  I did a little dance after I stepped on the scale and saw that magic number.

I know I won't hit a loss of 5 pounds by the end of November, but I might come close with this week in the mix.  That is stellar.

I'm still battling with a bum shoulder so I can't do as much from a physical standpoint as I'd like, so my workouts are very concentrated on the lower body as opposed to full body workouts.  Still, I'm losing inches and that is a good thing.  As a matter of fact, I'm wearing pants today that I haven't gotten into in years.  I've dropped two sizes already.

Perhaps size 6 or even size 4 is a real possibility when I reach my goal weight.  :)

Anyhow - I would be completely jazzed to drop another 2.5 pounds this week - but I'd be happy with 1 to 1.5 pounds at this point.  Lots of running around scheduled this week and I'm looking forward to it.

Until next time!
